Power Flushing

We do lots of power flushing and have lots of success. Most of these are done on early installed boiler systems by other firms. I always hear they said they flushed it. The boiler goes in fault, radiators patchy, working some days, pumping over, overheat faults. Once the flush is completed we add heating inhibitors to protect the system. Sometimes the system has design faults that build up sludge very quickly. We can advise if you need any additional work completed to help prolong any buildup.. .

Treatment

We recommend that once a power flush is complete, a magnetic filter is installed to help prevent future sludge build-up. We at John Fosters Plumbing and Heating recommend Adey Magnaclean pro2 filters.
‘Sludge’ can cause blockages in your system and cause your heating system to be inefficient, costing you more money to heat your home, or in the worst case, damage to your boiler and cause your heating to breakdown and the inconvenience of having no heating and hot water.
Heating systems can become full of magnetite, commonly referred to as sludge, which is the black substance comprised of dissolved and rusted metal from the pipework of your central heating system. It forms when air and water react with ferrous components – for instance, the water within the system reacts with the steel inside your radiators.
